Green Circle Solutions is delighted to welcome Jhanelle Coombs to the team as Sustainability Consultant, strengthening its capacity to support clients on their sustainability journeys and further develop its carbon measurement tools and advisory services.
Jhanelle brings a background in law, having studied at Lancaster University, where she developed a particular interest in environmental law, human rights and public policy. Her studies inspired her to pursue a career in sustainability, recognising the important role that businesses and organisations can play in delivering positive environmental and social change.
In her new role, Jhanelle will support the continued development of GCS's carbon measurement calculators, alongside research into sustainability frameworks, emerging requirements and opportunities to help clients better understand and manage their environmental and social impact.
Jhanelle is particularly passionate about the social dimension of ESG, including human rights, fair working conditions and responsible supply chains. She believes that sustainability is about more than environmental protection, with responsible business practices delivering benefits for people, organisations and wider society.
Her commitment to making a positive difference extends beyond her professional work. Based in London, Jhanelle is also involved with Groundwork, supporting initiatives that encourage young people to have a greater say in improving their local communities and influencing local decision-making.
David Humphreys, Director at Green Circle Solutions, said: "We are delighted to welcome Jhanelle to Green Circle Solutions. As demand for practical sustainability support continues to grow, investing in our team is an important part of ensuring we can continue to deliver the expertise, tools and guidance our clients need.
"Jhanelle brings a fresh perspective, strong research skills and a genuine passion for sustainability. Her interest in both environmental and social issues is particularly valuable as we continue to develop our services and help organisations take a more joined-up approach to ESG."
Speaking about her appointment, Jhanelle said: "My interest in sustainability developed through studying law and exploring how policy can make a positive difference to people's lives and the environment. I wanted to pursue a career where I could contribute to wider society and help organisations make meaningful improvements.
"I'm excited to be part of Green Circle Solutions and to contribute to the development of practical tools and solutions that help businesses understand their impact and take action."
Jhanelle's appointment reflects GCS's continued commitment to strengthening its expertise and making sustainability more accessible, measurable and actionable for organisations of all sizes.
