Green Circle Solutions to Deliver Training at ESSA Sustainability Days
Green Circle Solutions is pleased to be delivering the training programme at the upcoming sustainability training days organised by the Event Supplier & Services Association (ESSA) for the events and exhibitions industry.
Taking place on 15 and 16 April 2026, the two-day programme is designed to help event suppliers and industry professionals strengthen their understanding of sustainability and take practical steps to improve how their businesses operate.
The sessions will be hosted by Air Business at their headquarters in Hatfield, with thanks to the team for supporting this important industry initiative.
Day One: Building the foundations
The first day focuses on sustainability fundamentals and carbon literacy, helping participants understand the core principles that underpin sustainability in the events and exhibitions sector.
The training will explore:
- What sustainability means for the events industry
- The key terminology and concepts organisations need to understand
- The “language of carbon” and how emissions are measured
- How to calculate a carbon footprint
- Reporting results and understanding industry frameworks
- Developing practical carbon mitigation strategies and action plans
Participants will also have the opportunity to pursue Carbon Literacy certification, helping them build recognised knowledge and capability within their organisations.
Day Two: Moving beyond carbon
The second day takes the conversation further, focusing on how businesses can move beyond carbon measurement towards broader sustainability transformation.
Topics covered include:
- Life cycle assessment and understanding product impact
- Introducing circular economy thinking into event businesses
- Communicating sustainability credibly and avoiding greenwashing
- The role of social impact in sustainable business
- Net zero pathways and the role of offsetting and biodiversity
The session is designed for organisations that are ready to build on the foundations and embed sustainability more deeply into their strategy and operations.
Practical learning for a changing industry
Across both days, the sessions combine practical guidance, collaborative discussion and real-world examples. The aim is simple: to give businesses the knowledge, tools and confidence to move forward with clarity.
