Green Circle Solutions is launching its autumn series of free, 30-minute Lunch & Learn sessions designed to help organisations build their understanding of carbon measurement, strengthen their sustainability programmes and learn from others already taking practical action. The series will bring together Green Circle Solutions specialists, industry partners and guest speakers to share accessible guidance, real-world experience and practical lessons that organisations can apply within their own businesses, events and sectors.

15 September: Introduction to Measuring & Reducing Your Carbon Footprint

The series begins on 15 September with Introduction to Measuring & Reducing Your Carbon Footprint: A Step-by-Step Guide. Carbon measurement can seem complex, particularly for organisations that are unsure what data they need, which emissions they should include or where to begin. This introductory session will provide a clear and practical guide to getting started. It will explain Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions, outline the information organisations need to collect and explore simple ways to better understand and reduce their carbon footprint. The session will consider both company-wide and event-wide carbon measurement and is suitable for anyone looking to build their knowledge and take their first practical steps. No previous experience is required and everyone is welcome.

15 October: Creating Value for Members through Carbon Measurement

On 15 October, Green Circle Solutions will be joined by Annie Buckle, Director of elemental to discuss the development of a new carbon measurement tool for the landscaping industry. elemental recently partnered with Green Circle Solutions to develop the tool, creating a practical way for landscaping businesses and professionals to better understand, measure and improve their environmental impact. The session will explore the partnership behind the project, how the tool was developed and the opportunities sustainability creates for membership bodies, trade associations and industry organisations.

3 November: Why EAIE made carbon reporting mandatory

The third session in the series will welcome Sabrina van Spijker, Head of Events & Sustainability at the European Association for International Education (EAIE). Many event organisers understand the need for better sustainability data, but far fewer are prepared to make carbon reporting mandatory. EAIE has taken the significant step of embedding mandatory travel and exhibitor measurement into its 2026 Annual Conference and Exhibition at the SEC in Glasgow. During the session, Sabrina will discuss the reasons behind the decision, how EAIE brought its stakeholders on the journey and how mandatory reporting is helping the organisation gather more complete and reliable data.

For event organisers, venues, associations and exhibitors, it will provide an honest and valuable insight into what it takes to move from encouraging participation to making carbon measurement a core part of event delivery.

Practical insight in just 30 minutes

Each Lunch & Learn session is free to attend, starts at 1pm and lasts just 30 minutes, making it easy for busy professionals to access practical insight and develop their knowledge. The sessions are designed to be clear, relevant and grounded in real-world experience, with a focus on helping organisations move from intention to action.
